Willie Henderson

Willie Henderson used to be a professional football player. He played for the Glasgow Rangers and later for the National Scottish team. 17 years after playing in 478 matches he injured himself and could not longer play football. He has since opened up a hotel which he currently runs.

He is involved in charity work and eight years ago he raised 30,000 pounds through a walk for motor neurone disease after loosing a friend to it.

Henderson lost his daughter, Michelle, to cervical cancer in 2012. Before her death she started a charity called the Michelle Henderson Cervical Cancer Trust to give back to those who helped her through her treatment. After her death they continue to run the charity.

Through this charity they are raising awareness and funds for hospital equipment and support groups for women suffering from the illness.
